As of 2007, the RBA has a history that spans 25 years! To mark this notable fact and to raise awareness of the past 25 years of RBA history, the RBA Executive Board sought to piece together the history of the organization, and to find a way to record that history in a lasting and accessible manner. We dubbed this the “RBA History Project”!
Thanks to the efforts of our Board Members and several key long-standing Members we managed to gather most of the past RBA newsletters and other documents relating to the history of RBA. We maintain those here not solely as a history of the RBA as a voluntary association of legal professionals in Japan, but also as an insight into some of the changes and key issues that have been relevant to the international legal community in Japan over this long span of time. Via these past newsletters, containing articles on important contemporary issues, speaker and lecture event notifications and other such articles (including 25 years of social events!), one can see not only the history of the RBA but of the practice of international law in Japan.
